Step 1

The Challenge

Selling high-priced products through performance channels such as Google Ads is complex: the customer journey is long, competition is fierce, and click prices are high. When WEVENTURE took over management, the goal was to significantly improve performance despite these conditions and sustainably reduce acquisition costs.

Intense competition in the mattress market

Many national and international providers were competing with high budgets for the same keywords. CPCs often exceeded €10 per click.

Different product segments & target groups

From box-spring beds to mattresses, different target groups needed to be addressed with tailored messaging and search intent.

Rising acquisition costs

Cost per new customer fluctuated heavily due to seasonality and was sometimes very high. Precise campaign control was essential.

To compete in the highly contested mattress market, WEVENTURE developed a data-driven SEA strategy. The goal was to lower click prices while increasing the conversion rate through structured campaigns, relevance, and precise audience targeting.

  • Intent-driven targeting: Use of high-intent keywords combined with Smart Bidding to capture real purchase intent (e.g., searches related to “back pain” or “sleep quality”).
  • Segmented ad groups: Separate campaigns for different sleeper types (e.g., stomach vs. back sleepers) increased ad relevance.
  • Service & USP keywords: Expanded keyword portfolio with topics like delivery time, warranty, and competitor service features.
  • Quality Score optimization: Better ad copy and keyword coverage increased quality scores and reduced CPCs.

Audience targeting

  • Audience analysis & segmentation: Identification of user clusters with high conversion potential for targeted bid management.
  • Relevance-based ad copy: Tailored messaging for each segment — such as “stomach sleepers” vs. “back sleepers” — improved CTR and conversion rate.
  • Ongoing monitoring: Continuous evaluation of click, conversion, and cost metrics for data-driven optimization.
  • Performance-based collaboration: Flexible budget allocation with full transparency and no unnecessary risk for the client.
