The Challenge

In August 2020, WEVENTURE took over Heizungsmacher’s organic search efforts (SEO, content), and later also the paid advertising (Ads).

There was not yet a systematically structured knowledge or information hub capable of generating targeted organic traffic.

Domains

Heizungsmacher AG originally split its offerings across two domains: heizungsmacher.ch and solarmacher.ch. This division influenced the SEO strategy, as both domains needed parallel management.

Competition

Another challenge was that Heizungsmacher, as a young start-up, was entering a highly competitive market dominated by established players. The goal was therefore to increase visibility and traffic sustainably through targeted technical and content-driven SEO measures to support Heizungsmacher’s ambitious positioning in Switzerland.

Our Measures

To optimally position Heizungsmacher as a young start-up in the Swiss market, we have implemented targeted, data-driven actions since August 2020. In parallel, we began working on a comprehensive website relaunch in early 2024, which was completed in mid-April 2025.

Content and domain

  • Domain consolidation: In spring 2022, we consolidated the two existing domains (heizungsmacher.ch and solarmacher.ch) into one central, strong domain (heizungsmacher.ch).
  • Building a knowledge hub and content optimization: In early 2021, we established a systematically planned information hub. Through relevant knowledge articles, users are engaged early in their customer journey and guided directly to the Heizungsmacher website. At the same time, we optimized content across landing pages, such as product detail pages.

Technical optimizations and monitoring

Our measures also included ongoing technical checks and optimizations:

  • Continuous monitoring (Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, Google Analytics 4) for quick and effective responses to ranking changes.
  • Error analysis and fixes (404 errors, internal linking, structured data).
  • Optimization of headings (H1 tags), image SEO (alt tags), and regular content audits to continuously increase performance.

Sistrix Visibility Index

The Sistrix Visibility Index increased from 0.17 in August 2020 to 1.528 — a growth of 798%.

Over 60% of organic traffic and visibility is now generated through knowledge articles, proving the strategic importance of content.

Rankings

Instead of 62 URLs in 2018, a total of 132 URLs ranked in the top 10 in March 2025 (+113%), and 173 URLs ranked in the top 100 (+179%). (Ranking increases since the April relaunch were intentionally excluded due to temporary duplicate rankings caused by a changed URL structure — removal of trailing slashes.)

  • SEO success takes time — and pays off: Visibility and rankings rarely improve overnight. Our continuous SEO work since 2020 has been fundamental in positioning Heizungsmacher today as a leading heat-pump installer in Switzerland. The upcoming website relaunch will deliver even better user experiences and reinforce these achievements.
  • Content remains essential: In the heat-pump installation industry, users first search for trustworthy information. High-quality knowledge articles have built not only visibility but trust. For 2025, we agreed with our client to further increase content production to drive even more sustainable organic traffic.
  • Data-driven decisions generate long-term value: Regular monitoring and continuous adjustments make it possible to react quickly to algorithm changes and fully capitalize on ranking opportunities.
