Why is keyword research important?

Without keyword analysis, you have no clarity on which search terms your target audience uses to look for your products or services. It also allows you to understand if and where your website appears for these search terms on Google and other search engines.

In keyword analysis, various keyword tools are used to identify which websites achieve strong rankings on Google and other search engines for a specific topic. The search terms (keywords) used by these top-ranking websites are then examined in detail and finally compared with the keywords already used on your own website.

Unlike keyword analysis, keyword mapping is not about identifying relevant search terms. Instead, mapping assigns each search term to a specific page (URL). To avoid cannibalization effects, a keyword must not be assigned to multiple pages.
